Frequently Asked Questions
What defines an organization?
An organization can vary from a group of people(ie. a theater troupe) to a person (ie. a solo actor). Several people from different theatre companies can be involved in more than one organization. Please choose one theatre company as the primary contact for the festival.
What if we don't have performance space?
We do not want lack of performing space to be a limitation in the application process. We will do our best to match you with a theater venue, if that is what you are looking for. If you are looking for a more site-specific location, it is your responsibility to secure that space.
What if I can't perform my week?
In order to coordinate all South Texas participates we ask you to request three weeks. We will assign you one of those weeks depending on the availability. In case of unforseeable circumstances we will address the situation at that time.
Will participation in 365 Days/365 Plays cost us anything?
LCPG asks for 30 dollars to participate, after that you are financially responsible for producing your week's worth of plays - should that include design elements, actor fees, etc. There are no stipulations on the size of budget necessary to perform this work. It can be as little or as much as you can manage.
Who's handling tickets/ reservations for the year?
Every 365 participant will be handling the box office for their own specific performance week. REMEMBER: At your performance venue, tickets must either be free to the public or "Suggested Donation" at the door. You can determine the "Suggested Donation" level, and any ticket revenue is yours to keep.
How do I get the plays for my week?Once you have committed to your week La Colectiva Performance Group will provide you with a password to access your plays online.
Once I get my plays, can I change them for other ones?
No. The plays you will get are for your committed week. Since we have 52 organizations to coordinate we ask you to give us three different weeks you are available to perform and we will chose one for you.
Are there any restrictions to how we stage and produce our week?
The only restrictions on how you stage and produce your week's worth of plays are those you place on yourself. Production values can be as simple or elaborate as fits with your vision of your week's worth of plays. Due to equity and licensing laws any rehearsal or performance of 365 plays/365 days by Suzan-Lori Parks may not be video taped.
What is the 30 dollars for?The 30 dollars will be used for coordinating 365 plays South Texas, making a brochure and distrubuting it, and licensing fees.
