la Colectiva . 365 Plays/365 Days National Festival
365 Days/365 Plays National Project is a grassroots national theater festival conceived by Suzan-Lori Parks and Bonnie Metzgar which seeks to create a new geography for artistic production in the Internet age. Linking artists locally, nationally and internationally in simultaneous production over the course of an entire year, this project will map the rich diversity of the American theatrical landscape in new and surprising ways for audiences both live and online. The festival will be from November 13, 2006 to November 13, 2007.
San Antonio's newest artist driven theatre, La Colectiva is coordinating 52 South Texas organizations interested in participating in the 365 Days/365 Plays National Project. These "organizations" range from artist groups, performance artists, universities, and libraries in South Texas to participate in this year long event. Each group selected would be responsible for producing a week (seven plays) in the cycle. (The plays are anywhere from one page to four pages long.) The South Texas premiere of 365 Days/365 Plays will be curated by La Colectiva Performance Group.
